Seeds and Clones from ROs part 3 - The Plot Thickens

Cannabis superstar Kym Byrnes from Tribe Tokes is also a member of HCANY and was also on the call this morning for the discussion about getting seeds or clones from an RO - Kym of course knows everybody in cannabis so she checked with the higher-ups at Vireo and learned that although they haven’t started yet, they are indeed planning to sell plants and seeds. So kudos to Vireo, and we look forward to picking up a few plants and products when you have your first clone drop. Great news, and thanks for making that happen.

In less-great news, Penelope Hamilton came back with an additional report. Med Men called her back - her takeaway is that the general vibe of the company is that selling seeds and clones will cause them to lose business!

Not OK.

A) That is wrong and here’s why: home cultivators are some of the most dedicated fans of the plant and the medicine, and they will definitely line up for good deals on a rare strain. Some of the busiest days you will have if you run a dispensary are on clone drop days. So don’t be silly, add plants to your product line; and

B) home cultivation is extraordinarily important to the cannabis community. If you think that working against home grow is anything other than a public relations disaster, you are wrong. NYMCIA members should certainly know better. Vireo seems to have learned the lesson, but apparently, Med Men has not.
